Near Intersection of I-35 & I-90 Southern Mn. | I have used the one pictured for several years with good success. I fill the planter and sprayer in my dooryard where I have storage tanks. I have a Male and a Female Quick coupler on mine. I just have it hanging on a nail in the area where I fill. I use it essentially for every fill since its quite common for me to make partial batches. It does take a special battery that is available online and would be a good idea to have a spare on hand since they are not commonly available.
The Raven style has three counters although I really only use one. It does shut itself off after a period of nonuse which is good and bad. It does save the battery but when mixing complex batches with all the additives etc. I find that I sometimes need to stop filling part way through mixing a batch to get everything into the inductor in the correct order. If I take too long, the meter may "go to sleep" on me. When I start to fill again, I may need to "wake it up" so that it starts counting for the remainder of the batch. It does retain the previous total so I don't lose that.
Originally I made a cage out of small square tubing to protect the display. This did make it a bit more difficult to reach the keys. One of our workers decided he didn't like my idea and removed it. I didn't get around to putting it back on and it has stood the banging around that it gets so I guess the idea wasn't necessary.
A couple of years ago I misplaced it and went to my dealer to get another. I got a Banjo style that did work but once I found the Raven one I continue to use it. I find that my fat fingers don't always push the rubber covered buttons the best. Using my fingernail works better to reset the total or turn it ON.
