Pulling the radiator is the easiest way to get the pump out. You don't have to pull the tank or split the front end off. Take the pump mount loose from the pump & engine both, drop it out the bottom, & that gives room for the pump to come out. There is a tool to change the seal in place, but with 7K hours the quad ring inside the seal is probably leaking, & the shaft may have a groove worn where the seals run...just time to kit the pump.
