SW “Ohia” | mikeswoh,
They’re used to push or pull air through a barn during curing. Ventilation management is critical in tobacco barns, especially here in the extremely humid Ohio River Valley. (This is why tobacco barns are built with big shutters on the sides that can be opened and closed.) Using “forced air” ventilation was popular in the 1980’s, then kind of died off.
