What I see; PP has solid DP "actuators" vs AL using "actuators" with accumulators. In rough notil conditions or places with rocks, ext, I see a better ride and less wear on the row units. We have had DP on our "corn" planter for three years and had no problems.

We just did a 24 row Kinze install with electric drives and DP. If your are looking at a planter with out clutches or hydraulic drives, this is the way to go, as the drives and modules work as clutches and also will run DP with row by row control and there is some savings over doing it one piece at a time.
