Put a 4000 or 5000 psi gauge on a pioneer end. Then when you think you have issues, plug in the port, have someone stroke the lever, and look for 2500-3000 psi in one direction or the other. Narrows down a lot of problems. If you don't have that kind of pressure, report back, and I'll get some other things for you to check.
