NE South Dakota Clark, SD | 2900 PSI is what I would recommend, but if you have at least 2500 you will not have many problems. Under 2500, you may have issue holding grade with 8 inch and larger pipe or if you are deep. Chances are with big pipe and deep, traction will be your biggest problem unless you are looking at a Tiger. The biggest problem I see with older tractors is gearing. The operator tries to go slow, and does not have enough RPM to create the pressures required. Open center tractors need rpm to create pressure and flow. Most plows will not need more to a few gallons a minute while tiling. I would suggest having a flow and pressure test done at operating speed (RPM). |
