hahahaha. Lots of dams on the snake river where I live. I don't think ANYBODY would argue that the dams here destroy ecosystems. Without a doubt the best ecosystems are just above the dam. They even made a nature preserve just above one of the local dams that would otherwise be nothing but a desert landscape with sagebrush, lava rock, and rattlesnakes. Only negative thing I've ever heard are how it affects salmon, but that isn't a problem on the upper snake because there are no salmon (not sure if there ever were) No doubt in my mind that hydroelectric is far and away the best way to produce energy.
