I see your point, but when I’ve looked into windmills for personal use they seem cost prohibitive. Might be a not big enough scale kind of thing. And I’ve heard maintenance is a nightmare. I’m assuming solar power will be the big thing some day. As technology gets better and cheaper and smaller they’ll figure that out.

If population keeps growing they’ll need all the land/food they can get.

Necessity is the root of all invention... they needed and home for all the excess corn. So ethanol was persued. Eventually they’ll need more food, if yields can’t be raised corn prices will get too high that ethanol won’t be profitable. Then something else will step in. Someone is always ready to make their billions.
