Farmers are the only occupation I know of that will shoot themselves in the foot by bashing their own product.   Sad.



My product is beef, I am not mandating you eat 10% with every meal.

For old farmers ethanol worked out well. For young farmers it made land unaffordable.



Ethanol had little to nothing to do with why ground is too high for folks to buy. Has got more to do with crop ins and Gov monetary policy. If there was no crop ins in 2012 along with cheap money cost ground wouldn't have took off to the upside like it did.

Around 135 billion gal of gas is consumed in the US per year. If there was no ethanol, gas for sure would be more costly. @ 50 cents a gol more for gas = around $62 billion more that consumers would pay. Which would mean they have less to spend on a product like beef. In addition cattle industry would be effected in a negative way if Ethanol was not being produced.
