Wow driving around yesterday after last week's winds and there was ALOT of GROUND moving. I've shown pictures of Sand ridges which have blown out which I estimate to be about 0.005% of the crop.. well I'd guesstimate that maybe 25% of the planted acreage was moving last week.. and these blow out spots are growing..
We're probably looking at like 3 to 5% of the planted acreage now that is gone here.
The core of the good dirt is still holding on but.. we need moisture soon. The situation continues to deteroriate.. We're going to start taking the ripper to the fields today to try to hold the soil. We still have not put any fertility on our wheat as of yet although some have.. it's tricky.. we'll need it on before the next rain.. but until that comes you run the risk of blowing $$$ for no return and even frying what little remains of the crop at this point..
Tough call..
