I bought a Timberline sharpener because I kept getting my angles all messed up using just a file. It cost a couple hundred bucks and now I'm back to using a file. I think a file gets a chain sharper and the edge lasts longer than especially the small stone sharpeners. Maybe I'll just switch back and forth. I know I could have bought a lot of chains for what I paid for the timberline.
