Yep it will be used probably never be this clean again so that was the reason for all the pics and documenting the build.

The winch was still in the barn from the original set up but we had never used it before just manhandled the auger in and out of the cradle.

The handle was a last minute addition because I need to rotate the tube slightly as it swings back to the wagon bracket. On the older wagons with the straight side and door there is a little interference between the bottom pivot bracket and the bottom bracket of the door track.

So now that we have the first bit of paint scuffed I don't feel so bad.

There was a guard grate on this bracket but I had to remove it as it interfered with the door and the pivoting action. Probably would not have been an issue on the  later sloped side /door model wagons.

The handle gives me leverage to turn the tube and push back to the wagon bracket.

The only thing I might do different is get a winch that ratchet clicks in both directions. The safety chain in addition to the winch cable keeps  the auger from coming too far down and hitting the hopper edge.

Not sure if I will need hopper extensions or not auger does seem to sit a bit high in the hopper but I think running slow and full it will be okay. If not it might give me a chance to bend up some sheet metal extensions in the brake.

Auger stays centered pretty well and it won't need to swing too much side to side to fill 6 row planter.

Hydraulic shut off is simple rope turned valve near the end so will be easy to shut off and regulate speed from there.

This will be powered by separate tractor hydraulics. I could plumb up a push pull valve like on the drill and run hoses to back of planter or if I find a deal on power pack might install that on back of wagon.

I've got another wagon this same size with sideboards that I can get 190 on peaked up. This ought to hold 155- 160 pretty easily.

This one has a pipe rail down the center already and a couple rails on the sides for tarp hold down straps.

It does take a lot of time to get things like you want it but I find it enjoyable and worth while.

Stay tuned I've got an idea for lifting the drill fill auger into transport position if it all works out like I think it will.
