Subject: RE: Would you use harvest king motor oil?

Mid Michigan
Engines being dirty or clean has more to do with the ownership or care or operating enviroment the engine has been exposed to rather than the motor oil that's been in it. Dusty dirty back roads, poor air filters, a thermostat not operating properly, stop and go driving, short trips with moisture build up. Oil can't fix all those problems. If you have an engine with Mobile 1 in it and drive it on dusty roads every day two miles to work and back with a bad air filter and never let it get up to operating temperature the engine will look like a disaster when you rebuild it. If you do the same thing and drive in a warm climate 100 miles a day with everything working properly and use Walmart Supertech oil the engine will look like brand new. The operating enviroment is the apples to oranges. The oil is all apples. I have a shelf out in the barn right now that is a revolving door of different oils that get put in everything all year and I don't give it a second thought other than keeping the viscosity thin or thick for winter or summer. Brands mean very little to me and I drive as many miles as most people in the USA and oil problems are nill. If you want to read about oil Bob is the oil guy.com has a lot of tests on everything that you can check out. Lot of various oils and filters tested. Now I'm going to go top off the 5.4 in my Navigator with some Pennzoil or Travelers oil from TSC. It has Mobil 1 when I change it and it gets everything else in between. Keeps going.
