North West IA/western AZ | This article was in the 100 years ago column of the Sioux City Journal today. A story about my grandparents that I had never heard. They were married 3/23/1909.
MICE ALMOST STOP WEDDING: Just ordinary little mice that made their home in an express office almost caused the postponement of the marriage of Miss Jennie M. Day, daughter of a Le Mars real estate agent, to Albert S. Crabb, editor of the Aurelia Sentinel. The cloth that should have covered the knees of the groom made the mice a delightful meal, as Mr. Crabb discovered when he inspected his new wedding suit. The mouse eaten habiliments have been sent to the American Express company's Sioux City office with an attached claim for $12.
