Strathcona, mn | I had a 8.4 issue in a gleaner that was detuning and causing all kinds of troubles. Dealer checked injectors with computer. Injectors were fine. It ended up being the relief valve on the fuel rail. It screws into the end of the rail. If it senses a fuel pressure spike and pops open they tend not to reseat themselves and will cause issues. Sounds like it can be a somewhat common issue with the fuel system. It would be a pretty cheap and easy one to replace and check. There is no way of knowing if it is bad without replacing it. Have to be careful installing it as damage to fuel rail can happen with over tightening. | |
