Subject: Re: Fall Tillage Pics

Little River, TX

Myopic No Tillers are quick to give advise about soil, cropping, climatic conditions of which they are ignorant of.
Seminole, TX sure is not Kansas. The land Dutch is farming is truly beautiful, as well as productive.
Believe it or not, there is some situations where No Till methods is not appropriate.
Then you have people with a perverse Spence of humor who wonders how a true no till farmer can get the seed into the ground with out digging a whole for the seed.
Now I have seen truly no till farming. This one farmer does not have a tractor, just a 4 wheeler, and a Pickup Truck.
To plant he slings out grass seeds with his handy spreader, puts some hay out for the cows and allows the cows to stomp the seed into the ground. In my youth I met a man who seeded his pastures by feeding seed to his livestock. Now that is not Till.

Suggestion, next time tell us what works for you and why. Allow the targeted subject, as well as others, look and admire. Possibly they will see something to improve their production.

Which is exactly what Kooiker has done.
