| Yea that field is good soil but its not real deep, it is close to the river and has sand/gravel under it.
We no-till beans but not corn. This field will be in the 3rd yr of a corn,corn,corn, soybeans rotation next year.
Our reasons for tilling ground for corn include warming the ground up (we get a lot of snow) and we use manure for about 90% of our fertilizer needs.
If we didn't use manure I would like to try strip till for the corn. | |
