Subject: Countervailing tariffs to China in a Trade War.

Okay so it's a topic.. Now what do we do?

I posted this below on the possible actions China may be taking against US Sorghum..

The US's Largest Trading deficit partners..

  ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_the_largest_trading_partners_of_the_United_States   )

The largest US partners with their total trade   (sum of imports and exports ) in millions of US dollars for calendar year 2016 are as follows:[2]

A flow map of the largest trade partners of the US
United States imported $2.13 trillion from other countries in 2014
United States exported $1.44 trillion to other countries in 2014

so...???

We IMPORT 4 TIMES the amount of STUFF from China vs our Exports..  So if CHINA wants to ESCALATE a TRADE WAR..  which would be very dumb.. but.. ??

We as SORGHUM PRODUCERS could petition the TRUMP administration to IMPOSE COUNTER VAILING TARIFFS against Chinese IMPORTS to COMPENSATE US FOR UNFAIR TRADE PRACTICES..

.. which would probably continue the escalation.

And they could retailiate..

.. and we could retailiate..

.. and they could retailiate..

UNTIL ALL TRADE IS STOPPED!

Does CHINA REALLY WANT TO GO THERE?!?

.. because they got ALOT more to LOSE than WE do..

Okay so Assuming THEY DO want to GO THERE..  How do we handle it?

At some point it's gonna affect the soybean market.. But we'll have TARIFFS on Imports COMING IN to this country.. to COMPENSATE for LOST MARKETS!!

basically the Syngenta lawsuit on steriods..

What do we do with that?

Pay Soybean producers a payment for market loss?
In return for this payment.. have a Soybean acreage Set Aside so as to NOT flood the market.. without China's demand..
...

other ideas?
