Subject: RE: Kinze 3600 vs 3660

Missouri
3600's raise on the center post. The tongue and lower frame never raise. It can occasionally have ground clearance issues. 3660's have a taller tongue to begin with, and it rises with the planter when it raises. A 3660 only raises on the post when going in and out of transport.

A 3600 can have at most any two of the three hydraulic options:
1) hydraulic drive
2) bulk feel seed tanks
3) vacuum meters

A 3660 has hydrauilic drive as standard equipment, and can have both of the remaining options.

A 3660 has almost twice the range of wing flex, but has 6 rows on it's center section. A 3600 has 4 rows on it's center frame section. Either frame has the balance of row units on the wings.

This is just my opinion, but I like a 3600 for 12 row and a 3660 for 16 row. You can get either one, either way. In a 12 row configuration, although it has less range of flex, a 3600 has the rows to frame in a 4-4-4 (rows left-center-right) configuration, whereas a 3660 is 3-6-3. 16 rows fits the 3660's frame width with a more uniform distribution (5-6-5) vs a 3600 (6-4-6). Either one are a capable machine in either configuration. It's a matter of personal opinion which configuration might be optimum toward your individual frame flex needs. I've shared my opinion. It's right for me, but that doesn't mean something different isn't right for you.
