Subject: RE: Question on JD 55 combine

Stearns County, Minnesota

idaho dry farmer - 1/28/2018 19:58 Anyone know if a feederhouse off a 3300 would,or could be retrofitted onto a 55? Also is a 334 corn head 30" rows? IDF

Also is a 334 corn head 30" rows?

On a 343 corn head, the first number "3" is for 3 rows, the second "4" is for the 40 series production head, and the "3" is for a 30 row setting. The last ''3" is for narrow row, and the corn head could be set at 28, 30, or 32 setting.

A JD 344 head would be a three row head, a 40 series production, and the row width would be for wide row setting.  The last 4 means wide row setting, which could be 36, 38, or 40 row setting. These heads are for a quick tach feeder house.

The 334 number you ask about is an old number for the 3-row cornhead, where the feeder house was part of the corn head.  These models would fit either on the JD 55 or the 95 combines.  There were not quick tach heads.
