Subject: RE: Ridge till row cleaners

Driftless SW Wisconsin
We find there has been an evolution of row cleaners for ridge till as ridgetill and corn genetics have evolved. The 1572 combo with a Ripple blade leading slices the tough bt stalks and rootballs then the Trashwheels straddling the rear of the coulter (and close to the gage wheels) clear the top of the ridge with less soil disturbance than in the past in ridge till. Today stalks are tougher, yields and residue are higher, ridges are lower and generally there is less soil moved back and forth in ridgetill these days. The 1572 combo is becoming more popular in ridgetill areas. Thanks for your consideration. Jim at Dawn
