Subject: RE: Used to be a place called "The Ranch"

Kittitas Co. Wa. State

Used to be a Tavern (beer-wine only) just 1/8th mile out of the city limits, county jurisdiction big old round roof building. Had a stage for bands, huge dance floor, women's bathroom was way too small, men's bathroom wasn't much bigger. Code allowed for 150-180 people. Id' checking was a VERY lax requirement. Mostly people were 18 or 19 or so...
(21 is the legal requirement in Wa. state.

College town.  Weekends were wild, women would give up waiting for the woman's bathroom and just go use the men's bathroom. Had a big long urinal,, women would just back up an use the urinal and chat with the guys,  spilled beer always covered the floors, if they couldn't get in either bathroom sometimes the women would just use a handy corner or slip out the back door and use the parking lot, same with the guys.  There were plenty of "biggest and/or best Tata's contests".  Women dancing on the tables were SOP, the tables were longer than a picnic table so there was always plenty of dancing room...

Generally there would be 1-2 fights on any given weekend night, sometimes guys, sometimes girls,, everybody just kept dancing, partying, and drinking beer. Place was so crowded, there would be a fight, right down in the mud, blood, an beer and the people running the place couldn't even see the fight happen.

More than a few games of Monica Lewinski were played during the eavening's festivities,, and reproduction was sometimes practiced during dancing when bands were playing. It was just dark enough it was really hard to see across the entire bar.

Think "animal house" then add more people more beer more of everything...

Place finally closed down, College decided the place was a little too rowdy,, It finally caught fire and burned down.  :-(
