Amazon wish list keeps track of items and if on the list long enough (year + ) you often see the price reduction and how much of a discount something has undergone since you put it on the list.

I have noticed that prices fluctuate a lot. One price when put on list then it might drop or it might go back up to original price and the discount that you previously saw disappears.
