You could be right :-) I have a lot of Ideas for things that you simply cannot find or buy. I also enjoy making things but usually go overkill on the components. Bending thicker stuff usually involves torch and welding pins or jigs & clamping stuff to the welding table to get it formed. The trouble is repeatability is often hard to get exact for say a pair of brackets. I did pretty good with these. The main triangular pieces were formed with 1 piece of steel so there is only 1 weld where it comes together where the upright extends above the triangle. The other upright is bolted on to get the curved pivoting cradle in place. The ultimate tools which will probably remain outside of budget are a ironworker. This one is the coolest one I have seen for bending thick stuff. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mucB1R-Kkvg And a plasma cam for cutting intricate parts. https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=1&v=LvIpgBNyXBs https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=1&v=kw5ED_YLM9M |
