Subject: Planter drag chains_optional installation?

Between Omaha and Des Moines, 7 miles South of I80

I purchased 8 rows worth of drag chains, for JD7200 planter  (for corn rows) and using Dawn M-series Curvetine closing wheels. (Drag chains are the cheapest experiment I could try this year)

I would like to keep as much clearance between closing wheels and those JD tail housings, so I just test-installed a set of drag chains, But I bolted the long flat steel bracket on the "inside" of tail housing.

Yes, I know I lose a little overall width, for the chains; but it looks like it would work fine (with planter in transport and in shed; LOL) I tried the spring adjusting T-bar and it works fine = no interference.{Note: I'm using 55% rate springs back there}

Anyone think of a disadvantage, that I might run into?

Thanks

{No-tilling into old corn stalks and their root balls, is why I want to keep as much clearance as possible} Picture shows "standard installation"
