Why is it nefarious to ask whatever price you wish?  Without actually seeing the listings it could be a rare first print or they could be betting on someone not doing homework and buying it.  Or you could be wrong and the book could be worth even more than they are asking and it is a deal.

Seems to go along with the auction mentality a lot have on this site, if they don't get an item bought for what they are willing to pay there is something criminal going on.  The real crime would be forcing someone to sell an item for what you think it is worth or threaten imprisonment, which is what nefarious implies.
