Not everyone has to borrow money to farm. I haven't borrowed money to operate since my first year which was 7 years ago. I also bought and paid for a 165 acres with in two years of purchasing it. I like what Dave has to say for the most part and have done must of what he says. I would however borrow money if a piece of ground came for sale that I wanted but would not purchase it if I don't see a return in 20 years. I am young but people who don't think that history cant repeat its self are fools. If we see interest rates go back to historic averages of 8 to 10 watch out below on land prices and watch what you think you have in equity go away overnight.
