I looked into this a few years ago. Can't remember the details, but make sure you are comparing apples. IIRC, Scale Tec was cheaper, but their top end scale weight was less. It was okay with me, I just couldn't weigh 100% full loads, (could still haul them, no damage there). There was also a slight difference in mounting, one company raised the box 3-4", the other <1".
