How long does the glow plug light stay on for you 6400 tractor owners? Mine stays on only for an instant then goes off? I'm thinking it should be on longer than that?

My 6430P hasn't even turned on the intake heater the last 2 mornings. It's been plugged in for 2-3 hours and the water temp shows 70-75 degrees when I turn the key on. I'm surprised mine hasn't ran the intake heater because in the past I've seen it on for 5-15 seconds. It's been -15 here the last two days and it started fine. I put a new battery in it a month ago. I tried ether in mine before and won't ever do that again. It got to the ether and STOPPED turning over momentarily. It didn't like it one bit and still wouldn't start.

It does seem to require a lot of amperage to start such a small engine. If I were you, I'd check the water temp to confirm the block heater is working. Then I'd check battery cable connections and possibly replace cables with new/bigger ones. It doesn't take much corrosion to cause resistance. Then I'd replace the battery. Mine tested good when I replaced it, but wouldn't turn the engine over fast enough when it got cold. Mine has started perfectly since then.
Disclaimer: I'm no mechanic.
Good luck
