Simazine is pretty insoluble so it takes rain/moist soil to activate it and keep it in soil solution. Simazine is a better grass product with a long residual. It can impact wheat if you're planting wheat in the Fall. There have been 50+ years of atrazine + simazine applied to Mid West corn fields.
