NW Washington | A rule of thumb is one gallon of reservoir for each gallon per minute of pump flow, but for this case 10 gallons would probably be plenty.
Northern Tool has all the log splitter stuff you need. You need a valve with no detent on the extend side, for safety reasons. Investing in one of the two stage gear pumps that Northern sells might be a good idea too, as your pump may move the splitter cylinder fast and be load on your engine.
