Subject: Butcher young bull

Have a bull from last year's calf crop that we ended up putting in the fats pen. Will he be any good as a butcher beef? He will be about a year and a half old when he goes to slaughter. Other alternatives would be to sell him as a long yearling bull at local sale barn. He is a black angus, good looking but not registered or out of A.I. sire so nothing special. We have never butchered a bull before so hence my ignorance.
