Central PA | I think you have do define "tractor" on that one. I'm sure some of the inventory at Stitzels's isn't in operating condition, so it depends on if you want to say operating tractors or just tractors. Their ad in Lancaster farming has probably 400+ tractors listed and I know for a fact that they have ones that aren't listed on there. I stopped by last week and walked around. I counted 9 1066's, 11 986's 16 1086's, and 12 IH 2+2's. I counted 16 4440's and 12 4630's in their ad this week. I don't want to even try to count the number of 4010's and 4020's they have.
As to why they have so many, I don't have a clue. Does anyone really need 16 1086's or 4440's to choose from? And yes, some look like they have been there for years. I know I would love to own the place just to be sitting on that many parts and that much scrap iron. You could keep yourself busy for a long time taking stuff to the scrapyard and parting things out.
Here is one of many lines of equipment they have there.
