I’ve been wondering the same thing. Hope this isn’t a dumb question- do you feed whole corn or do crack it or grind it. I have been looking for a way to stretch my hay.
IMO it takes sizable amount of cracked corn to make up for the cost of cracking it. Sure cracked corn is better, but on a smaller scale it is hard to get back the cost of cracking it. Especially when it is a small % of the ration. With cows and lots of roughage, food is moving slow enough through the cow for the cow to digest the kernel properly IMO. |
