Salvisa, KY | i typically keep 2-3 loads of cattle 600-900lbs. Currently grind all of my own feed with my own shelled corn. Buy soybean meal and make different protein mixes and add our mineral packs in when we grind for a ration. I feed mostly wet wrapped wheat rolls free choice. I'm sick of packing buckets everyday to say the least. I'm thinking of going to a cube feeder on a truck and fence line bunks. Lots of mud in KY so no way can go into lots. Eventually I'll go to a vertical tmr mixer. Anyone have a better alternative to buckets. We've even bagged our own feed and weighed to save handling buckets it's still just as bad.
Any ideas? These cattle are confined as well btw.
