Takes time and lots of washers....I know. Helped a friend fix his grinder after a disc disintegrated after grinding some corn stalk with a few rocks in them. Haybuster wanted 12,000 for a new “balanced” rotor......last I knew it was still grinding smooth as silk.
I weld weight on lasts a lot longer. Washers will wear out and fall off. Strip all the rods and hammers balance with chains and weights then weigh them and make equal weight out of strap and weld them on the out side of the mill. Almost every grinder I own has had this treatment. When putting hammers back in weigh all of them and balance accordingly putting the closest weight possible across from each other. You can not static balance end to end it has to be dynamic ask me how I know. |
