Beresford, SD | Most all plants that kill choice and prime fed cattle under 30 months have a labeling agreement with CAB. To my knowledge only Greater Omaha and National beef can use the Cerified Hereford beef label. Many plants have thier own labels as well. Sysco would be a wholesaler that the pack sells boxes to. To qualify cerified hereford not only does the carcass have to meet thier specs, but the live animal must have a 51% white face, but can be red or black. Aka. Baldie.
Edit. Buyer stated the meat he delivered me today may easily have come from a heifer in this pen that I sold them. Looked on Greater Omaha’s web site.....the 40oz version of the bone in rib eye “retails” for $1000.00 on thier web site. Hope they sell the snot out of them to Richie Riches over the holidays! Makes me proud to be able to buy and feed such good quality cattle resulting in a top of the line end product!
