West Salem, Illinois | In my college days I got the extreme pleasure of dragging a roto rooter unit up a 65’ leg to try to unplug an overhead bin that had been filled with DDGs to mix for a research project. After they put the load up they decided that for the small inclusion rate they were using to get the DDGs in bags from a different source. So about 6mo after the research project they decided that they could be fed out well they wouldn’t come out! We used rods, hammers, everything short of dynamite and settled on the roto rooter. We were able to knock a hole thru it but never did get the bin emptied, talked to the guy I worked under a few years ago if they ever got that bin cleaned out said he had retired and it was someone else’s problem now. | |
