Beresford, SD | Oh, that can happen. I’ve rolled over a half dozen the last month or so, I just roll them over and leave them the heck alone......normally thier pretty tired and leaving them alone causes them the least amount of stress. A week ago, I feel a sleep in my chair and my wife took the garbage out to the dumpster.....she came running back to the house and got me up saying somethings wrong.....”you have a heifer distressed and bawling”. I ran outside and here lays a heifer with her feet darn near straight in the air. Took very little effort and just grabbed one of her rear legs and rolled her over. After she got up and staggered a few feet she turned her head and the look on her face said “Thank You”. If Kari wouldn’t have taken out the garbage, that fat heifer would have been dead by morning. I lost one fat this fall due to laying down with thier feet up hill and it sucks to drag a 1400+# dead out of the pen.
