Don't do it. If your wanting an animal to be more acceptable to your warmer weather use a choralais bull. You'll have good growth and grading of a northern type animal that will be able to tolerate heat in the south.


I wouldn't use a Charolais on first calf heifers, especially of a different breed. You will gain some birth weight over your parent average with a f1 because of hybrid vigor. I don't know the calving ease of brahmas. You can look at a cross breed epd adjustment table to compare bulls, but don't believe outliers within a breed (for multiple reasons).
