West Central Nebraska - Sandhills
We broadcast seeded rye with an ATV spreader and then harrowed it in with a small harrow late this fall (because cattle are not at the home place to trample in) and it never germinated. I think it was a combination of no rain, colder temperatures when it was done, and mostly that the wind blew so much sand around that all the seeds worked themselves back to the top. The only thing I guess I thought could potentially get the seed down deeper was to try and drill it in. Your thoughts? Thanks Jim
