se montana | Been feeding a processed pellet with rumensin for 30 years. Have decided to crack some of my own peas/oats and add rumensin this year.
My custom pellet in the past has been an ru120. Meaning, 120 grams/ton of monensin. Feeding 3lbs/day to calves in a backgrounding program along with some hay fed on the ground.
I figure this amounted to 180 mg/day.
What concentrations are available for retail purchase? Seems like some very powerful product spread really thin. How would I want to mix a 100,000 lb batch of this up? I would be using an antique bearcat hammermill to crack it.
I know the obvious thought from most of you is why not just keep using the processed feed? Well, its a long story, but lets just say I'm tired of selling cheap grain and then buying it back in a very expensive pellet and having to truck after it to boot.
Feed salesmen aren't answering their phone this morning (Saturday), so I was hoping to catch some feeder having coffe.
