I also think it is the type of people. I enjoy looking up family history and in my research I found that part of my family came from Baden, Germany, settling in Clinton Co. IL. and some of my family settled in Dubuque Co. IA and the Baden, Germany area wasn't the only coincidence they were both very large dairy producing counties. Further research found that Clayton Co. IA, Stearns Co. MN, Mantiwoc Co. Wi, Dubois Co. In, and Mercer Co. OH were also very large settlements for the Baden, German Catholics and all are very heavy dairy and or livestock counties. So maybe milking cows is a genetic defect lol.
