Now, you probably see why Plowboy just puts a switch in the dash. I feel you probably have more items to repair/adjust than just this inlet heater operation for your complaint. How long has it been since the valves and injector timing(= injector height) have be adjusted???? I suspect they both need to be set. I suspect the injector timing is probably retarded(= injector height too tall). You may also have the possibility that the fuel supply system is "sucking air" (GM products are known for the plastic supply fuel fuel lines to have holes rubbed in them around the frame rail). Worst yet, would be if you were getting combustion gases escaping at the seat area between any of the injectors and their coppers that are swaged in the cylinder head. Good luck
