Faunsdale, AL
There is an end .....might not be in sight yet!

Went through this with a new to us 4955. We used wire to poke and hook and flushed as much crud out of the rear end as we could while we had the finals off.

Our problems started when one of the cones in the transmission filter covers stuck to a filter and was not noticed. They are supposed to be held on by a snapring but this one was missing or something. So we started having trouble with the rockshaft soldnoids.....replace and recalibrate...$700 a pop at the time. Then we found the filter problem and fixed that.

Then a front pump........., then the brakes which were down to metal on both sides and probably had been as long as we had owned the tractor. The previous owner must have kept cleaning the sump screen until it quit clogging up cause it never gave us trouble. Next thing it quit pulling ........replaced the trans pump......then another front pump cause we ran it too long with the trans pump not moving oil.

It has been good for several years now.

I think there are different micron rating filters you can use to really clean up the oil.
