Donnellson, IA. Makes saying here easier.
We moved to strip till mainly for the nutrient efficiency. Most of our ground is in good shape fertility wise but whats available to rent are not well maintained fields. Also we wanted to place our nutrients down deeper instead of them stratifying out like notill creates. RTK is a must in my opinion if you want to reuse the same line. We went away from narrow beans and went to all 30" now. So we utilize any left over fertilizer. Not sure what rig you are looking at. Several good ones out there depending on your conditions. Biggest thing to remember is that you are setting up the field for the planter so make sure conditions are good for making berms. Also if you do strip soybeans hopefully you get the results we do. Really helps our late season K numbers in the plant.
