Our 8430 pulls our 13 shank chisel plow just fine. Have to put some weight on it. Never pulled a field cultivator with it. If this tractor is going to be a tillage tractor I would get a articulated. Save up and find a 9330. Bigger motor and probably a bit heavier. You will be much happier over he 9230. You can even upgrade tillage equipment and not have to upgrade tractors down the road.
