Marshal County, Minnesota
Might as well chime in as well. I am 29, single, no kids, and content with that for now. I have a full time job and farm on my own on the side trying to get to the point where farming is all I will be doing.

My biggest critique of us in the Midwest is we still get married too early in life or at they very least jump into it with out thinking it though. It isn't as early as it used to be when people got married at 18-20 years of age but their still are a number of weddings where both are 20-25 years old. 5-10 years later one or both of them realize they made a mistake and now its divorce time. Why? Because I feel it is the social pressure from the previous generation. If you are 22 years old and still not married, there must be something wrong with you, if she doesn't get pregnant within the first year or 2 of marriage, she is barren or he is cheating on her. That's the pressure I feel is being put on us by the older generation, when I talk to a good friend of mine who moved to central Kansas he tells me there is even more of the same pressure there than here. So I feel there are those pressures for single people to get into marriages that they are aren't ready for with people they shouldn't be with.

I am happy being single, can chose to do what ever I want to do on the weekends, and the only living being I have to take care of is my dog.
