Fruita CO | What I ran across, in my days as a single widower, was "WOMEN going their own way"...some widowed, some divorced, but all having given up on a real relationship with a man...perfectly happy to go out a couple times, cook you dinner maybe once, but when it comes time to take it another step, the "just friends" card comes out ...too busy with my grandkids, not interested in "a physical relationship" any more, my church is all I need, yada yada...my own sisters actually fall into that frame, alone, not particularly happy, but resigned to it. Then there's the other extreme, gold diggers, druggies, alkys, & just plain ol' nut jobs you have to watch out for.
After a few of these misfires, I was about ready go go that route myself, when I was introduced to a woman who had not given up, even after being divorced twice & raising her kids with zero help from the dad. Took me a while, but I came to the realization that she was a keeper, & being alone sucked...
Maybe I'm excessively lucky to have got hooked up with two really good women in my life, but I'll take it... | |
