There are specific temperatures, periods of duration, number of times for turning, etc etc. which are listed in the USDA organic rules, as I recall...............and then........again, as I recall,............the compost has to have specific moisture levels, etc.

I think all of the rules are oriented towards the commercial composter.........so that weed seed, etc. etc.     can be stated within legal parameters that such has been "composted".

As I said earlier, we apply everything prior to the legal cutoff for raw manure, and therefore our objective is nutrient stability, to the extent practical.
